Information manipulation, propaganda, mass persuasion... these processes are not new, but digital technology has brought about a revolution in the way information is disseminated and the way we access it. A revolution that has become even more pronounced with the development of social networks, to the point of calling into question our relationship with data.
Don't hesitate to register for this event, which will bring together EPITA alumni and students, HEC Montréal alumni and the XV DSI community (an association of 400 members, founders and friends, who share the values of mutual aid and digital transformation).

David Colon, historian, member of the CNRS Internet and Society Research Group and researcher at the Centre d'histoire de Sciences Po, is the author of "Les maîtres de la manipulation. Un siècle de persuasion de masse", a gripping work that reveals the little-known, globalized world of the great mass manipulators. Through 20 portraits, he recounts the invention of war propaganda, advertising, nudge or micro-targeted communication, and how these people conceived and deployed their persuasion techniques by taking advantage of the constant advances in science and technology. He has also recently published a new book entitled "Rupert Murdoch. L'empereur des médias qui manipule le monde" (Rupert Murdoch: the media emperor who manipulates the world), in which he deciphers the personality, methods and more or less avowed aims of this modern-day Citizen Kane.makes and unmakes governments, fights relentlessly against European integration, and propagates countless falsehoods and conspiracy theories, all of which he will discuss at our conference.
